Dragonia ( Chapter 2)

The women Illahs don't participate on attacking outsiders, they just alarm the men. They expertise on making poisons that is enough to make a man paralyze for 12 hours. If the poison is too strong, there is a possibility for a person to die.

“Well he's doing a very good job. In fact, I think your father-" she didn't finish the sentence because one of the Illahs approached her.

“Illah Theresa, Illah Cora needs to talk to you." then the Illah took off. “I’ll just tell you next time. Gotta go. Bye Devon. Take care. And always listen to you father." then she took off. With that Devon sighed.

After her mother died, Illah Theresa appeared from nowhere and started becoming an Illah. Quen once told her that she is one of the lost people of the island. Illah Theresa became her second mother; there was a point that she wanted her to marry her father. But she knows, her father only loved one woman and that was her mother, Queen Desyana.

Queen Desyana, the great queen who sacrificed her life for the sake of all Dragonians. She was a great loving mother, who cared for all the living things. Even it is just a tiny plant. A nature love she is. She was a woman with full of great wisdom and knowledge. But fate has its own way; even the most kind can die with just a blink of an eye.

“Father, let's go." James said while fixing his sword into its scabbard. He was now determined to kill that dragon who killed his beloved mother.“Son, I think I might not be able to accompany you. I need to fix some problems in the kingdom. Sorry son." the king patted his son’s shoulder. He was disappointed that he cannot join his son in this journey.

“It’s fine father. Just take care. And don’t overdo rest if you’re tired. The ship is ready." then he took off. “Take care son!" his father said excitedly watching his son go on the path he once wished to come true.

Devon was at hall when the king spotted her. "Devon-" the king's words was cut by Devon.

“Father, I know what you’re going to say. I'll be careful. I'll just go to Sylvia. Don’t worry about me." she assured her father that she will not use her powers. “Okay. Just be careful!" he shouted as Devon was going off.

“Bye father. See you later." Devon waved to his father.

When Devon was gone, the king went to his room and opened a wooden chest, he took a little portrait of a woman dressed in a white silky dress, who had a blonde hair, and a beautiful emerald eyes.

“Desyana, I'm doing everything to save our daughter. I don't want her to experience the same thing that happened to you...But I guess our daughter is just like you. She just won't listen to what I say." little tears flow down from his eyes.

A little gust of wind strikes him. And he felt like someone is whispering something to him. “Little by little... our Daughter will know the truth. She is... extraordinary. For she will finish my mission... She is also the dragon guardian after all..."

‘Dragon guardian...' he murmured. He knows what will happen if a person is a dragon guardian. He/She must defend Dragonia from any threat. Even if it means to sacrifice your life. Just like what Queen Desyana did.
"Desyana, she can't be one. What if she'll die like you." he said. He knows that his wife is talking to him.

“When the right time comes, give her my tiara... It will give her more power. And a sudden change will change all of the things that are supposed to happen... A man, a man-" the voice is cut. The door opened.

“King Seris, the Illahs need to speak to you." a servant said.
The king was still not sure what his wife was trying to tell him. What man? Who? What will that man do?

The King sits in his throne. “Yes?"

“Why does father cannot understand me? I have my own right, right?" she turned to Sylvia.“Yes Devon, but your father is still right. He doesn't want you to be in trouble." Sylvia said.
“Sylvia is right. You can never trust outsiders!" Koronus warned.

For a moment, all were silent. As if the wind stops, the trees do not sway its usual way. Then the shrubs move. Something was moving. They were alarmed and Devon runs. Through the shrub she went. Sylvia and Koronus followed.

She can see the shadow. She was in the clearing of the woods. She stopped. She sensed that the shadow was just nearby. Then suddenly, she felt weak. As if somebody shot her a sleeping arrow or something. She fell on the ground.

She tried to stand and shout her friend's name for help. But no one seems to hear her. No one is coming. Suddenly some shrubs moved again. She saw a shadow.

“Who-who a-are you?" she asked stuttering. She is trying to see who it is but it’s too dark in the place the shadow is hiding from. “Why are you in our land?" she asked again. But this time, louder.

The shadow was not speaking. “Who are you? And why are you sneaking? Why are you in our land?" she is getting irritated. The shadow gave a little laugh.

“I’m a native in this island. I am a spirit.  The Spirit of the lost Dragon guardian. I will be the one who will give her power in the near future." the shadow said. She was sure it was a woman.
“You can stand up now and follow me..." the woman said.

She tried to stand up and there she was, earlier she was weak, now she was strong... She is hesitant but she still followed her.

Devon's POV

As I stand up I felt I have my strength back. I followed her. I still cannot see her face. When we reached another clearing, she sits on a well. I didn't know there was this kind of place in this island.

“You’re probably wondering why you didn't see this place." she said while looking at her polished nails.

She is definitely beautiful for a spirit like her. She stands up and did something with her hands. She is like doing a spell. Suddenly a ring with an emerald gem popped out in the air. “For you." she said and put it in my ring finger.

“What is your name?" I asked when I gained confidence. She doesn’t look like a threat.“When the right time comes, you will know..." the spirit said. She then went on a nearby tree.

Behind a tree, she gets her harp. She strums and strums and strums it slowly. It made me sleepy. The music she played is so great. Then I feel that someone is calling me...

“Devon, Devon, Devon, wake up!" it said. I saw Koronus' face.

“Devon, are you okay?" Sylvia asked her, she looked so worried.

She was in the same spot when she fell down before she followed the spirit.

“Huh? Yeah..." she said while stroking her head. She suddenly got a headache.

“Why did you disappear so fast?" Koronus asked.

“All I know I was in this clearing when a spirit of the lost dragon guardian appeared before me, and then she gave me this." she showed them her emerald ring.

“Wow! It sure is shiny!" Sylvia remarked.

“Prince, we sent out men already. So they could alarm us if anything happens." a soldier told James. “Okay, good. How about the weapons?" he asked.“We have them ready in the other ship." the soldier answered.“Ok, you may go back now." he said.

“King Seris, are you sure of what you are thinking?" a concerned Illah asked him.“Cora, maybe it can also help us..." he said.

“But how are you sure that they'll be an ally?" Theresa asked him.“They once killed a great dragon my king." Quen remarked.“You are right. But there is nothing stroking with trying right?" he said touching his beard.

“My king, you are the one who said, never trust outsiders! But why are you putting this topic up now?" Cora asked frustrated.

Cora is one of the oldest members of the Illahs. She was the most skilled of them all and she is very passionate about protecting dragons.“Well, you are the general of the Illahs, you can decide. It's just my opinion." King Seris said.

“King Seris, I'm afraid we will not agree on what you want. We will go off for now my King." Cora said.“Okay then. I'll just call you again if there is a problem."King Seris said unwillingly.

“Prince James, our men spotted no sign of alarms. Do you want to land there by dawn?" a soldier asked.“Sure, no problem." he said looking at his map. After the guard fled, he started crumpling the map.“I swear I'll kill you for killing my mother..." he thought angrily.

Emerald jewel of the crown. Devon traced the tiara, “My mothers." she thought. “I miss you so much mother."She holds and hugs the crown so tight. Oh how she missed her lovely and caring mother.

She died when she was five. On a battle with the people while protecting the Dragons. She sacrificed herself to protect the island. Her powers sent out an invisibility power to the island that can last for 10-15 years. Sometimes it'll get visible or invisible.

That helped it prevent people from spotting the island. The only main people who they usually encounter trying to attack them are the Rojanese from the island of Rojan. Which was named after King Robertius James Rojan II. The next generation, his son, will be the next king after him named, Robert James Rojan
